According to G2's Julia “juliano” Kiran, eliminated VALORANT Game Changers Champions teams will not be able to re-enter the field after elimination unless they purchase tickets that sold out soon after they went on sale.
Riot is already getting backlash for its venue selection. The first international LAN event will take place at the LEC studio in Berlin, Germany, in a tiny crowd of 174 people. Tickets for the event sold out shortly after they went on sale, and those who thought they didn't need to rush to get tickets were put on a waiting list.
Riot reportedly kicked players out of the venue after teams were eliminated from the event. Typically, eliminated players go to the audience to cheer on their still-fighting opponents, but this first international LAN tournament to host a Game Changers event won't have any such privileges for other players. Eliminated teams will return, according to Juliano.
Considering that this is a LAN tournament where international teams can meet face-to-face for the first time, many of the Game Changers competitors are pretty upset. Valorant Game Changers teams are known for supporting each other, and many players from different teams are friends and enjoy friendly competition outside of the game. However, this move means they won't be able to support their friends if they're eliminated from the start.
Dot Esports reached out to G2 and Riot for details but received no response.
The Game Changers Champions tournament will kick off on November 15 and will feature eight teams from six regions competing in Berlin for the first time.
