These teams took their place at the top.

The inaugural season of the VALORANT Champions Tour gave fans a great opportunity to watch the best teams in their region compete before taking on the best teams in the world. Teams from around the world have proven to be the best their region has to offer, and have secured their place as some of the best VALORANT teams in 2021. Here is the list of the best VALORANT teams to stand out from the crowd in 2021.

Turn on

Acend took the title of the first VALORANT Champions and cemented its place as the best team in the world. They were undefeated throughout the tournament and beat Vivo Keyd, Envy, Team Secret, Team Liquid and Gambit Esports along the way.

The team found success in the early days of VALORANT by winning the European Masters event, but the Masters failed to qualify for Reykjavík. The 100 Thieves went to Masters Berlin, despite knocking them out in the quarterfinals. Most fans never questioned the team's potential, but many expected another EU team to go all the way in the Champions. But Acend showed that they can take the best from any region and will likely be a notable force in the 2022 season.

Sentinels

The Sentinels were one of the most dominant teams throughout 2021. They had a tight grip at the top spot in North America and won their first Masters event with an undefeated streak. They made an incredible debut on the international stage at the Masters Reykjavik, becoming the first team to win an international VALORANT title.

They continued their momentum by winning the NA Challengers Playoffs at VCT Stage Three and looked like they were on their way to a third title at Masters Berlin. However, they failed to pull the triple peat and were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Champions was an even more difficult experience; The Sentinels failed to make it out of the group stage.

Despite the disappointing finish, the Sentinels were still one of the best VALORANT teams of 2021.

Gambit

Gambit Esports was the top European team to go to the Champions. They won the Masters Berlin by beating Envy 3-0 in the grand final. Their success before the champions led many to believe that he would return home with another title, but they eventually lost to Acend in the grand final.

Despite this second-place finish, Gambit is still one of the top teams of the year.

They are a shining example of European dominance in VALORANT and are just one step behind Acend.

KRU Sports

KRU Esports was one of the top South American teams throughout 2021 and has appeared in all three Masters events. They failed to win the Regional Masters event and were sent home from Masters Reykjavik with just one win against Shark Esports. They did better at Masters Berlin and made it to the playoffs, but G2 Esports knocked them out.

For the third time, he became the attraction of KRU on the international stage. Before being knocked out in the quarterfinals by Gambit Esports, FURIA sent home the Sentinels and Fnatic to have one of the most impressive runs in Champions.

This year has been a long battle for KRU Esports and they have successfully planted their flag among the best teams in the world.

Cloud9Blue

Cloud9 Blue had a tough start to 2021. Star Duelist Tyson “TenZ” Ngo left the team to focus on content creation before joining the Sentinels and becoming one of VALORANT's biggest names. But C9 Blue became one of the top North American teams in the final episode of the season and one of three NA teams for the Champions.

Before the NA Last Chance Qualifier, Cloud9 got the old Version1 actress makeover and started cleaning the house. They beat Rise, 100 Thieves, XSET, Gen.G and Version1 to earn their spot in the Champions. Although Team Liquid quickly eliminated them, they were the only North American team to survive the group stage in the Champions. Hopefully we'll see another impressive year from Cloud9 Blue next season for fans.

X10

X10 is an Asia-Pacific team that dominates the region along with Team Secret. The X10 won the SEA Masters event and made its international debut at Masters Reykjavik. They defeated Crazy Raccoon but were sent home by Fnatic.

The team returned to an international event at VALORANT Champs and qualified for the playoffs, beating Vivo Keyd and Envy along the way. They were eventually defeated by Gambit but still won a map against the dominant AB team.

X10 was one of the best teams in its region throughout the year and performed relatively well at international events. Do not ignore the entry of this team into the 2022 season.

Vision Strikers

Vision Strikers is undoubtedly the best Korean VALORANT team. They put on a 104-game winning streak and won their first Masters event in Korea. They failed to make it to Masters Reykjavik, but reached the quarterfinals at Masters Berlin.

The team failed to make it through the group stage at VALORANT Champs and beat only FULL SENSE in the opening match. It's clear that Vision Strikers are struggling on the international stage, but they're still the dominant Korean team and will likely have another excellent run next year.

Crazy Raccoon

Crazy Raccoon was the top Japanese team in 2021, but they hadn't been able to make a name for themselves on the international scene. They left Masters Reykjavik without winning a match and only won one series against Havan Liberty at Masters Berlin.

The champions were tough for the team. They were swept away by Team Vikings and Team Secret, who returned home for the season without winning a single map in the biggest event of the year.

Team Secret

Team Secret was a sleeping giant who made its first international appearance at Champions. They were considered one of the weaker players in Group C, but they pulled out Crazy Raccoon and Team Vikings to secure their place in the playoffs. VCT Champs Ascend eliminated them in the quarterfinals but they are still performing much better than expected.

team vikings

Team Vikings is one of the best Brazilian teams to win the regions Masters event. They qualified for Masters Reykjavik where they defeated X10 before losing to the Sentinels and Team Liquid. They also started the Champions with a win against Crazy Raccoon, but were sent home by Gambit Esports and Team Secret.

The Brazilian team drew a map against one of the best teams of the tournament, Gambit, and showed that they can compete with the best. If Team Vikings can continue to improve against international opponents, they will progress from one of the best teams in their region to one of the best in the world.
