Naughty Dog is working on a remastered version of The Last of Us Part 2, according to a developer's LinkedIn profile.
As noticed by a few attentive Resetera users, the experience timeline for Mark Pajarillo, Lead External Source Artist at Naughty Dog, included the following note: “Overseeing the production of all externally sourced environments, art assets, weapons, and interactive props for two iconic games.” responsible for: The Last of Us Part One and The Last of Us 2: Remastered.” The mention of The Last of Us 2 has since been removed from the profile. Pajarillo worked as an Environment Artist on TLOU2 during its original production.
Of course, this isn't an official announcement, so details like release date, price tag, PC version, or even whether it actually exists are unknown. It's only been three years since the original version was released. It's also unclear whether this will be connected or related to the upcoming multiplayer Last of Us game; The game was claimed to be postponed in a previous report. Also, Last of Us day came and went in September without any news.
This finding comes on the heels of news that 25 contract staff were laid off at Naughty Dog. Last of Us director Neil Druckmann recently confirmed that he is writing and directing a new game. But although some fans believe they've found hints at a Last of Us remake, no details have been revealed.
