Apex Legends esports scene returns to LAN after 2 years hiatus!

The professional Apex Legends scene is making its long-awaited return to in-person competition with a $29 million LAN Tournament in Stockholm, Sweden for the weekend on Friday, April 1.

The tournament will complete the second part of the Pro League and bring together five regions: APAC North, EMEA, North America, South America and APAC South. Ten teams from APAC North, North America and EMEA will qualify for the event.

The first-place team will take home a $250.000 prize. The second team gets $150.000 and the third team gets $100.000. All teams that qualify for the final lobby will receive some cash prizes. The twentieth-placed team will receive a $9.000 paycheck for their efforts.

The tournament will begin with a group stage on Friday, April 29, and then move to a double elimination format on Saturday, April 30. Only on Sunday, May 1st, the top 20 teams from the group stage will advance to the final lobby. Match Points format will be fought on the final day to determine the Champion of the Tournament. The event will be played without an audience due to the ongoing pandemic.

He last experienced the excitement of Pro Apex's international LAN tournament in September 2019 at the $500.000 Pre-Season Invitational held in Krakow, Poland. Many more LAN events were planned for 2020, but these had to be cancelled. Now, after 2 years, the Apex stage is back and we are all looking forward to this tournament...
