Ark: Ultimate Survivor Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch in September, combining the base game with several expansion packs. This includes Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction and both Genesis DLCs. The game will retail for $50 when it hits Nintendo's system.
Players who already own the regular version of Ark on Nintendo Switch will receive a complete overhaul of functionality, graphics and optimizations for the game. Ark developer Studio Wildcard says it has hired a third-party developer to take charge of this new version of Ark, resulting in a complete rewrite of the game's Switch code and development on the latest version of Unreal Engine 4.
All existing Switch player progress and save data will be preserved when the update is applied.
"Reworking Ark on Switch's gameplay has been on our radar for a while, and we're happy to have found a talented team that can help us realize that vision," said Jesse Rapczak, co-founder and director of Studio Wildcard.
The Ark series has been growing lately as an animated series based on the dinosaur action-adventure game and a full-fledged sequel starring Vin Diesel are in development.
If you want to try the game on a different platform, Ark: Survival Evolved is currently playable on PC and PlayStation consoles with the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
