EA is reportedly currently working on a new single-player, open-world game based on the Black Panther franchise!
That said, according to Jeff Grubb, speaking as part of the Giant Bomb's Game Mess Mornings post, the project will be a single-player-only game and EA's aim is to build on a legacy from developer Respawn's well-received solo success.
Although details about the game are limited at this point, the new open world game is said to be "very early in development". Grubb claimed that players will need to complete various challenges to become the new Black Phanter.

EA is currently calling it Project Rainier, possibly named after Mount Rainier in Washington. That said, the team leading the development is EA's new Seattle studio, led by former Monolith Productions boss Kevin Stephens.
Stephens, who directed games like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War during his time at Monolith, joined EA last May. At the time, it was confirmed that his studio would be working on a new open-world action-adventure, which obviously fits nicely with Black Phanter's claims.
Assuming Grubb's sources are correct, it's still early for the project, so we don't expect an open world Black Panther game from EA to be officially announced anytime soon.
