Kim “Clid” Tae-min and Gen.G have parted ways, ending a two-year and 28-day partnership.
The decision to leave the league comes after the League of Legends player's contract expired this month.
"We thank Clid for his contributions to the team and dedication throughout his tenure," the organization said in a statement on social media.
Clid enjoyed a successful marathon, battling the LCK team for the top spot in the league. Gen.G qualified for the World Championship on two separate occasions until the semi-finals of the 2021 World Championships held in Reykjavik, Iceland in October and November.
Clid and mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong have formed a strong bond over the past two seasons, becoming one of the hottest and most respected mid/jungle duos in the league.
A return to the LPL, where Clid began his career in 2016, is a plausible option. But it also makes sense to move closer to home.
