During the DC FanDome, DC announced an in-game movie for DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace, the upcoming animated movie.
DC Comics has a handful of video games based on their various IPs coming out next year, including a movie hookup game: DC Super Pets League: Adventures of Krypto and Ace. The Super-Pets game will be based on an animated movie of the same name and will help fill a crucial year for the popular superhero franchise in all settings.
At the DC FanDome, fans received a new trailer for Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game that will see Task Force X face off against DC's greatest heroes. In the game, Brainiac has captured Metropolis and corrupted the minds of Superman, The Flash, and Green Lantern. Amanda Waller teams up with the likes of Harley Quinn and Deadshot to go to Metropolis to kill the Justice League, and despite being far weaker than the heroes, she ultimately saves the day. However, they can find allies in other heroes like Wonder Woman or Batman, although it will be seen.
On a much more family-friendly outing, fans will be able to play as the animal counterparts of some of the aforementioned heroes. Outright Games has announced a movie tie-in game for DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace, coming in spring 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC via Steam. The on-rails shooter may not be what Superman game fans want, but players will be able to simulate it to some extent through Krypto. The animated film will star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Krypto and Kevin Hart as Ace, but the game doesn't seem to be bringing the actors back.
Little else is known about the game, but it's likely that players will also play as Ace given that his name is dropped in the title. There may even be potential for joint play due to the nature of the game. That said, it's definitely an interesting game, and while it won't appeal to the same crowd who've been looking forward to Gotham Knights, it does offer something fun for kids. There are no concrete details about the upcoming movie, but it does have a star-studded cast in unknown roles with the likes of John Krasinski, Keanu Reeves, and Kate McKinnon.
Looks like DC is much more mature next year Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the more casual Gotham Knights and family-friendly DC Super-Pets game will have something for every type of DC fan.
