Diablo 4 Barbarian Skill Guide
Diablo 4 Barbarian abilities, similar to other classes, use a tiered grouping system. You can unlock certain options after spending some skill points, and a few can be upgraded even more. We've listed them below, noting possible upgrades and connected nodes. Likewise, you'll want to look at the effect of each passive. Some provide general buffs to weapon types, while others synergize with specific mechanics (e.g. bleed, rage, buff, and more).
Basic layer/grouping capability options
- Pressure Point – Lucky Strike; Basic skills have a chance to make enemies vulnerable.
- Infinite Rage – Basic skills grant more fury when using two-handed weapons.
Defense rank/grouping ability options
- Imposing Presence – Gain additional max life.
- Martial Vigor – Increased damage reduction against elites.
- Blast – Gain thorns for every max max life you have.
- Tough as Nails – Increases Thorn value; Enemies take additional spike damage as bleeding.
Combat level/grouping skill options
- Swiftness – Increases your movement speed.
- Quick Impulses – Decreases the duration of effects that impair movement.
- Roaring Voice – Increases the duration of shouts.
- Raid Leader – Gradually heal allies' HP when you use shouts.
- Guttural Yell – Shouts reduce damage dealt by enemies.
- Aggressive Resistance – Berserking grants damage reduction.
- Battle Fervor – Gain berserk when a Martial skill damages an enemy.
- Prolific Fury – Increased anger generation when going berserk.
Weapon Mastery tier/grouping ability options
- Pit Fighter – Increases damage dealt against close enemies and reduces damage taken away.
- No Mercy – Increases critical strike chance against immobilized, slowed, and stunned enemies.
- Slaying Strike – Deal increased damage against injured targets (i.e. below 35% HP).
- Unleash Vulnerability – Dealing direct damage with a Weapon Mastery skill allows your next Core skill to be applied to targets vulnerable.
- Thick Skin – Taking direct damage causes you to gain a percentage of your base life as buff (i.e. damage reduction while buff is above your current HP).
- Defensive Stance – Increases damage reduction when Empowered.
- Counterstrike – Increases the damage you deal when your buff is more than 50% of your maximum HP.
Ultimate tier/group talent options
- Duelist – Increases your attack speed when using one-handed weapons.
- Tempered Rage – Increases your maximum rage.
- Furious Impulse – Gain fury every time you switch weapons.
- Invigorating Fury – Heal for a percentage of your max HP for every 100 fury you spend.
- Heavy Handed – Increased critical damage when using two-handed weapons.
- Brute Force – Overpowers deals more damage when wielding two-handed weapons.
- Wallop - Increased damage against stunned or defenseless enemies when using impact weapons.
- Concussion – Lucky Strike; Weapons that hit with one-handed and two-handed clubs have a chance to stun enemies.
Ability Passives
Diablo 4 Barbarian prowess also have Key Passives that unlock when you spend 33 ability points. However, you are only allowed to choose one.
- Unlimited – +5 seconds and +25% damage bonus to Berserking's maximum duration.
- Marching Armory – Two-handed bludgeoning, two-handed slash, and two-handed weapons deal +10% more damage over 10 seconds. Gain +15% more damage while all these bonuses from various weapons are active.
- Unbridled Rage – +135% more damage is done for basic skills, but these cost 100% more rage.
- Gushing Wounds – Increases the amount of bleeding by 100% of your critical damage; Taking down a bleeding enemy also causes an explosion in an area that applies the bleeding effect more.
