Ahead of Diablo Immortal's June 2 release date, the Diablo team at Blizzard talked about some of the accessibility features they've built into Diablo Immortal to create an inferno that will work for everyone.
Controller support was a really important thing to bring to Diablo Immortal.
“You will be able to play Diablo Immortal with controllers on both mobile and PC,” Blizzard wrote on its accessibility blog. Many controls, including abilities, access to chat, and more, can be reassigned from the controller tab of the settings menu.” he wrote.
In addition to controller support, Blizzard is sending Diablo Immortal reviewers a Razer Kishi controller that turns the phone into a Switch or Steam Deck-like device.
New features have been announced for Diablo Immortal, designed to chat with friends, be as accessible as possible, transcribe local voice chat to game chat, and convert text chat conversations to voice chat. Here are a few videos of both in action.
The surprise addition of PC support was in itself a choice made in part for accessibility reasons.
"It's important that Diablo Immortal reaches as many players as possible," Diablo franchise general manager Rod Fergusson said in an interview with The Verge.
Diablo Immortal will launch in open beta on iOS, Android, and PC on June 2nd.
