Summer is usually when most major game developers and publishers hold presentations or events to showcase what products and updates they're releasing in the second half of the year and beyond. However, Electronic Arts doesn't seem to be ready to go into details yet.

IGNIn a statement to EA, EA confirmed that it will not be hosting the EA Play Live event this summer. Instead, future projects promised individual updates as they became available.

“We love EA Play Live as it's a way to connect with our players and share what's new with all of you. However, this year things aren't right to show you everything in one date.” “Exciting things are happening at our world-class studios, and we'll be revealing more about these projects this year when the time is right for each of them. We look forward to spending time with you throughout the year!”

EA Play Live is the biggest of the EA Play events the company hosts throughout the year, and it usually coincides with E3 in June, but is run as a separate live event later broadcast on Twitch and YouTube.

That doesn't mean there won't be another EA Play release in digital format this year. However, it is said that the publisher is targeting the 2023 version of the Dead Space remastered and that Battlefield 2042 did not meet expectations, and as a result, it started working again for updates.
