Fnatic to miss second consecutive CS:GO Major after finishing last place in IEM Fall Europe

After a 0-5/1-4 performance in Group D of the IEM Fall Europe event, Fnatic lost the chance to qualify for the CS:GO PGL Stockholm Major to be held at the end of October.

With no RMR points earned in IEM Fall and the already small amount of points being reduced by roster change discounts, Fnatic will miss the PGL Stockholm Major altogether. Despite the two-year gap caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be the second Major in a row Fnatic missed after failing to qualify for StarLadder Berlin in 2019.

This result at IEM Fall 2021 comes three months after the team brought legendary AWPer JW and trusted in-game leader Golden to the bench, replaced by former Cloud9 Colossus members ALEX and mezii from the UK. This roster move was a crucial move for Fnatic, which chose to build a completely non-Swedish roster for the first time in CS:GO.

Although this new form of Fnatic is only a few months old, missing another major (and the first in over two years) is still a complete disappointment for the iconic Counter-Strike organization.
