Celebrate Fortnite's fourth birthday with limited-time challenges and festive new items.
Happy birthday, dear Fortnite. Epic's tower defense game has turned into a battle royale game, the metaverse forerunner celebrated its fourth anniversary this weekend, and Fortnite fourth birthday challenges are now live in the game to celebrate. There is nothing to buy, but also no XP to own. Instead, you'll unlock new holiday cosmetics. Here are all the Fortnite birthday challenges you need to complete and what you'll earn by doing so.
Fortnite Fourth Birthday Challenges
There are three challenges you must complete to earn all the free birthday cosmetics. You can beat them in any order, but you will unlock rewards in the same order no matter what. Because three cosmetics are earned by completing one, two, and three birthday challenges, respectively. To finish the list, you need to:
- Dance in front of birthday cakes (4)
- Throw birthday presents (4)
- Consume birthday cakes in different matches (4)
Head to the four named locations to dance in front of their birthday cakes. Jumping to one right away and getting three more can be done in a single round, but you'll still need to play at least four matches and still eat cake in each one, you can do this using cake slices surrounding any large cake. I guess you'll have to take your cake and give it a shot, too.
The final challenge requires you to throw birthday presents. You'll find them as random loot, but you only have until the night of Monday, September 27 to do so. After that, all those birthday items and challenges will become unobtainable, so if more Fortnite free items are something you envy, be sure to pick them up this weekend.
Birthday cosmetics include a fourth birthday sticker, pickaxe, and back ornament, each decorated with generous slices of purple cake. These challenges are almost identical to last year's birthday event, so it's safe to expect these challenges to come back a year from now. Don't miss them while you're here on the weekend so you don't miss the annual collection.
In the meantime, watch out for everything else new to Fortnite this week, like the Eddie Brock skin and problematic XP gains.
