Ahead of a big 2022 for games, Sony today released its lists of the most downloaded PlayStation games from 2021. The listings include a list of the most downloaded purchasable games for PS5, PS4, and PS VR, as well as the top-downloaded free-to-play games for PS4 and PS5. All listings include a column for North America and Europe.

Starting from its free-to-play list, Fortnite has achieved global dominance with #1 on both the NA and EU charts. Both Call of Duty: Warzone and Rocket League followed suit, with Warzone being number 2 in NA and second place in Rocket League EU. Splitgate surprisingly ranked #2 on the NA chart, beating out some of the big games in Apex Legends, Genshin Impact, and Destiny 4.

FIFA conquered Europe once again this year and FIFA 22 took the top spot for the EU on both PS4 and PS5's most downloaded lists. Even FIFA 21 broke the top five of both lists. It wasn't very popular in North America, but the sport still dominated, with Madden 4, NBA 5K10, and MLB The Show 22 all in the top 2 on both the PS22 and PS21 charts.
