Forza Horizon 5 is getting a major update on March 29 that makes a number of improvements to the multiplayer mode, including a new progression system and custom racing option, and naturally adds several metric tons worth of highly desirable rides.

Horizon Open has been updated with a new progression system, including Badges that can be unlocked through the game
Added Custom Race to the Horizon Open, which will allow players to find races for their chosen racing discipline and PI class
Fixed some scenarios where the player could be left waiting longer than necessary in the post-race stream.
Notes outside of the PvP changes say Series 6's focus is on player customization, with many tweaks returning to this side of the game and making it more visible to others:

-Two Featured EventLab Events each week
-A Seasonal Championship featuring an exclusive photo taken by a community member
-Seasonal PR Stunts will now provide Super Wheelspins instead of regular Wheelspins
-Tons of new items and cars
-Series 6 also adds a brand new Horizon Story about the 'infamous' Drift Club with multiple chapters in the game world. This opens by playing the Series 6 Festival Playlist.

Eligible awards include the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400, a "one-off prototype racing drift car." As always, there are lots of new items and rewards: skin materials, car horns, icons, etc. You can see them all in the full patch notes here.

Forza Horizon 5 was the open world game of the year in 2021. Playground has consistently maintained free updates that add new ways to play and trivia: during this presentation, it also said that the game's first DLC will be announced soon.
