Fans may have to wait a few months for them.
Joseph Staten, Creative Head of 343 Industries, said in a quick interview with Game Informer that Halo Infinite will get more guns in the future.
When asked if we've seen everything the game's arsenal has to offer, the answer was short. "No, you didn't," he said. When asked if players could expect more multiplayer weapons in the game, Staten said he thought it was a "pretty safe bet." However, due to the rapid-fire nature of the interview, the topic was not explored in depth.
Staten also shed some light on some other aspects of Halo Infinite and the franchise in general. When asked if fans should expect new stories that don't revolve around the main character of Master Chief, his answer was short. “Yes, absolutely,” he said, adding that if you play Halo Infinite right now, you'll find yourself in the next generation of Spartans.
The interviewer also touched on the subject of Halo Infinite Battle Royale mode. Games like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone, which have been hugely popular in the last few years, are leading the way in this genre. It has become somewhat natural for people to expect a similar mode in most FPS games in the future.
That's why the Game Informer journalist questioned how sick Staten was when asked if the Battle Royale mode was coming to Halo Infinite. “Actually, it doesn't get asked that often,” he replied. He later explained that he couldn't talk about it, so such a mod might not be completely off the table.
While Staten hasn't given an exact timeline for the new weapons, their debut will likely not be in the near future. He said the developers are updating the multiplayer "season to season". He also highlighted that if there is an aspect of the game that needs to be fixed as soon as possible, the team will aim for a quick fix outside of this timeline.
The second season of Halo Infinite will be released in May 2022, so players will have to wait a few more months to get the next possible chance to add new weapons to the game.
