Intel took the Arc mobile GPUs to the podium today with the Arc 3 A350M and A370M, but one of the company's most anticipated pieces of technology will not launch alongside GPUs. Intel's XeSS upscaling technology will be released in early summer.

Intel's XeSS will launch alongside Arc 5 discrete mobile GPUs in the summer, meaning early adopters of Arc 3 won't have access to XeSS for a while. Still, Intel has shared a list of around 20 games that are already compatible with XeSS. Top titles include Death Stranding, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Hitman 3, Ghostwire Tokyo, and Chivalry 2. More games will likely be added until the summer release of XeSS.

XeSS is an AI-enhanced upscaling technology. This means that with the help of AI, XeSS can render a game below its base resolution before scaling it to the desired resolution. This app helps gamers get the 4K experience without straining their hardware while maintaining their frame rate (FPS).

While the Arc 3 mobile GPU release is exciting, this is just the beginning. XeSS will meet Intel GPU users in early summer alongside Arc 370 mobile GPUs with twice the A6M's Xe cores, ray tracing cores and GDDR5 memory. Not only that, Intel's desktop GPUs will also make their debut with the launch of a limited edition GPU in the summer, and a range of common cards will likely follow. Summer seems to be Intel's season.
