Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge says he's the reason God of War: Ragnarok has been delayed. In a tweet, Judge said he had multiple surgeries in 2019 and God of War developer Sony Santa Monica studios delayed the game.

JUdge continues to commend Sony Santa Monica for its dedication and compassion, saying, “Everyone involved in the GofW series puts their hearts and souls into every frame you see.”

2018's God of War was a sequel to the seminal PlayStation hack 'n slash franchise, but a stark departure from the furious hyper-violence of previous titles. In it, Kratos is older, wiser, but not so kind as he makes his way to fathering his younger son, Atreus. Christopher Judge is best known for his role as Kratos for his constant snarling of the word "Boy," now synonymous with character and a popular meme.

Sony announced Ragnarok, the sequel to God of War, with a 2021 release date last year. However, in June of this year Sony Santa Monica announced that it has decided to delay the game to 2022. The delay wasn't shocking as the COVID-19 pandemic caused several games scheduled to be released in 2021 to be delayed. But according to Judge, it looks like the pandemic may not be the reason for Ragnarok's new release date.
