Daedalic Entertainment has once again postponed the release of Lord of the Rings: Gollum, and the producer said that the release date, which was stated as September 1, will be delayed by only a few months.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum was announced in March 2019 and plans to give players linear missions with a Middle-earth-inspired mix of subtle tactical stealth, environmental confounding, climbing challenges, and fast track activities.

Daedelic was originally aiming to release Gollum last year, but decided to delay the release date to 2022, although no reason was given at the time. But this latest delay was made to "give the best possible experience," according to the developer.

“Over the past few years, the team has worked hard to share our vision for an extraordinary story set in a breathtaking world, filled with magic and wonder,” Daedelic said in a last-minute statement. We are dedicated to meeting our community's expectations and uncovering Gollum's untold story in a way that honors JRR Tolkien's vision. Despite this, we've decided to delay the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum for a few months to deliver the best possible experience. We will set an exact time soon and update on that.” said.

The Lord of the Rings Gollum will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S when Daedelic finally sets a release date, followed by a Nintendo Switch version for the game.
