Monster Carnage has arrived in Fortnite as part of the game's Chapter 2 Season 8 Battle Pass. The Battle Royale title has seen many Marvel guest stars over the past few years, and the most recent is Shang-Chi's Fortnite costume, which was released before the character's cinematic debut in Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings.
Comic book fans are very familiar with the deranged serial killer Cletus Kasady, who was empowered by an alien symbiote to become a mortal enemy to both Spider-Man and Venom in the early '90s. Since then, Carnage has appeared as a boss in several Spider-Man games (some of his best remembered being Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage for the Super NES and Sega Genesis). It looks like Carnage is fast-tracking on Fortnite to increase body count ahead of its theatrical premiere.
Earlier today, Epic Games released a new trailer for the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Battle Pass on its official Fortnite YouTube Channel. Among the new character skins featured in this ominous teaser is Carnage, who shows off the Carnage Harvesting Tool with a tentacle attack on some interdimensional enemies, straight from the comics and upcoming Venom. However, since the Carnage skin is only available at Level 90 or when claiming 90 Battle Pass rewards, players will have to put in a significant amount of effort to unlock it.
Other playable skins included in Fortnite's Season 8 Battle Pass include demon hunter Charlette, IO agent Kor, an anthropomorphic unicorn named Fabio Sparklemane, and Toona Fish, a stylized black and white cartoon character that players can add color with through a variety of customization options.
Carnage's playable skin in Fortnite is well-timed, as Cletus Kasady and his alien-infused alter-ego are poised to make their big-screen debut in Venom: Let There Be Carnage next month. Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Battle Pass is now available for purchase as a full paid version or free trial from the Epic Games store, meaning it won't be long before Carnage begins his reign of terror on the Island.
