They can get their answer in a short time. According to recent job postings, development of the next Mortal Kombat could begin soon.
NetherRealm Studios, the developer behind the series, is actively seeking two new members to join the team. There's a posting on WarnerMedia's website for a veteran producer in the video game industry, preferably AAA console games. The other post on Linkedin is for a veteran artist/animator and listed “martial arts, fighting games development experience” as a desirable feature.
