Known for their work on the Burnout series, EA's Criterion studio is developing Need for Speed Unbound. The game will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PS2 and PC on December 5.
A press release by EA confirmed more details about Need for Speed Unbound. Players will try to win The Grand, which is described as the "ultimate street racing challenge" in the game's Lakeshore world. In story mode, players will collect and customize new cars on their way to the top.
More specifically, the story begins with a robbery at a family auto shop. And our character, a rookie racer, goes on a journey to get his stolen cars back.
Criterion's Kieran Crimmins said, “Need for Speed Unbound is all about expressing yourself, taking risks, and competing just as yourself – through your racing style, unique car builds, fashion, music and much more. We were inspired to create a truly authentic universe that players think they represent in the game. Unbound's visual experience redefines anticipation with a new signature art style that brings graffiti to life, intensifies competition and invokes adrenaline.” said
