Capcom has provided more details on PS2 and Xbox Series X|S upgrades for Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 5. The company has not yet given a release date for the upgrades, but has provided information on how these upgrades will work.
The tweet that made the announcement says that all your original save data will be migrated to the upgraded versions. If you purchased Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition, your DLC purchases, including the DLC you received, will also transfer to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
All three games will receive visual improvements as part of the upgrades, though Capcom has not detailed what these will be. On PC, all three games will receive an update to match the visual improvements of console upgrades.
All three games were reviewed relatively positively on GameSpot. Resident Evil 7 was seen as a marked return to its horror roots, while the Resident Evil 2 remake offered a new experience built on the foundations of the original. The Resident Evil 3 remake scored lower than the other two, but it was said to still have some great moments worth playing.
