These Images of Ride 4 Are Extremely Realistic

Big-budget racing games have always been a viable way for video game studios to showcase ridiculously detailed graphics. Who doesn't like to see the ripples in a tire or the South American sun bouncing off your windbreaker? A clip from the motorcycle racing simulation Ride 4 went viral and looked so realistic that it actually fooled some people into thinking it was real racing camera footage at first.

The footage shows a first-person view of a motorcycle racer speeding through the rain-soaked streets of what looks like England.

Funny enough, game developer Milestone released Ride 2020 in October 4. A PS2021 and Xbox Series X update was released four months later in January 5. The original video appears from a channel called JoyOfGaming and was shot in 4K and 60fps. Ironically, when you lower the video settings to around 480p or 360p and 30fps, it starts to look like random racing footage you might encounter on the internet, adding to the eerie realism. The graphics still look incredible when upgraded, but there's something to be said for how lower resolutions and digital artifacts from all copied and re-uploaded versions of video affect our eyes to believe we're actually watching.

If you want to test your eyeballs, Ride 4 is now on Steam available . Milestone is also the studio behind the MotoGP, Monster Energy Supercross and MXGP series.
