Riot Games and Netflix finally got a taste of one of the most anticipated shows of the year by releasing the official trailer for Arcane, the new animated series based on the globally popular video game League of Legends.
Arcane will be Riot's first television series and will premiere at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 20th. The show will air worldwide via Netflix and will be shown on Tencent Video in China. It will be a great way to celebrate the League of Legends 00 World Championship finals, scheduled to end just hours before the show.
“Players all over the world love League and its universe,” said Nicolo Laurent, CEO of Riot. “His passion inspires us to create Runeterra emotes worthy of their fandom. The launch of Arcane is the start of the next chapter for Riot, and we'll wait for players to see what we have in store for them in games, entertainment and sports.”
The show will dive head-to-head into the world of Runeterra, and more specifically, the delicate divide between several of the world's most interesting regions. In the golden streets of Piltover and the dark, seedy streets of Zaun, fans will experience a story between Jinx and Vi, two of the League's most iconic champions.
The two characters have a complicated history going back to when they were just kids, and the series sends viewers on a roller coaster ride of discovery, emotion and explosion.
It looks like League fans will have a lot to uncover and look forward to as they wait for this epic story between Enforcer and Loose Cannon to begin.
