Earlier this year, Riot developers announced that they wanted to make the behavior system in League of Legends "more important" by creating solutions that "directly affect" players, such as awarding rewards based on recognition.
One of the rewards to honor honored players will be a special recall animation. Video of this new animation was shared on Twitter today by Kristy Doan, a VFX artist for League, which hinted at the possibility of a possible Challenger base return animation.
The animation features amber and gold tones and features a 5th Honor Level graphic inspired wreath on the champion's feet. A similar visual can be seen flying above the champion's head, while golden hues fly into the sky. Similar to the Challenger animation introduced in 2019, the Commendation animation is a way for players to show off their skills in the game and that they are an honorable player.
Alongside the new animation, Riot has brought other rewards for honorable players. When players reach the maximum level of appreciation in League, they will earn “compassion coins” in the shop that can be spent to purchase costumes and colors for Gray Warwick and Medieval Twitch.
That's not all: At the end of the 2022 season, Riot is also working on a "special skin" for players who only reach Honor level five. There is currently no official information on which champion will receive this skin or how it will appear in Rift. The only thing that is certain is that players must demonstrate good and exemplary behavior during their games if they want a chance to get exclusive content.
