Riot Games announced today that the new agent to be added to the VALORANT roster (Agent 22) will be showing at the VCT LOCK//IN tournament this weekend.
The new agent will be announced for the first time before the grand finals at the tournament, which invites all 30 partner teams to compete alongside the two Chinese teams in São Paulo, Brazil.
The grand finals will kick off on March 4, and fans can see the new agent around 20:00 UK time.
While we don't know much about Agent 22, we got a short teaser of the boy who just arrived in the neighborhood on February 20. The other two agents will also be released on servers later this year.
Another teaser for Agent 22 was released earlier today. A text message conversation was shown between Brimstone, Sage, Jett, Reyna and Neon, which appears to be about VALORANT's next character. In particular, Reyna seems to have been asked about Agent 22 and says, "I trust her," indicating some sort of connection between Reyna and the new agent.
But the fun doesn't end with the appearance of Agent 22. Tarik and FRTTT, two popular VALORANT broadcasters, will compete in an exhibition match with the agent active on March 4. Both streamers will play against each other using the new agent.
Teams for the exhibition match have yet to be announced, but we can expect to see some familiar faces, including creators and professional players alike.
The reveal and exhibition match of the new VALORANT agent will be held before the grand finals of VCT LOCK//IN. The two teams will go head-to-head to earn an extra spot for their region at the VCT Masters later in the year.
