Team Ninja's action RPG exclusive to PlayStation Rise of the Ronins We're just a week away from launch and Sony has released an epic cinematic launch trailer to mark the occasion. Blending live-action scenes with in-game visuals, the trailer focuses on the bond between the main character and his lost Blade Twin.
In Rise of the Ronin, which takes place in 19th century Japan, the player Controls a customizable warrior for hire known as Veiled Edge. The game deals with a period of history called the Black Ships of the West, which threatens Japan's previously closed borders, and will see the player character interact with a variety of historical figures as they make their own way through the game's open-world story.
The player will be able to customize two characters: Veiled Edge and Blade Twin, two brothers raised and trained together. The launch trailer focuses on this dynamic, contrasting footage of the twins as children with a tense conflict between them as adult ronin.
A new gameplay style for Team Ninja, Rise of the Ronin combines the combat style of previous games such as Wo Long and Nioh with a more free-form, open-world structure. The game's marketing pushed the sense of freedom in the game with a story that would react to your decisions as you choose your own path as a ronin.
Rise of the Ronins Coming to PS22 on March 5.
