Scarlet Nexus Arrives on Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft announced at the 2021 Tokyo Game Show that the Scarlet Nexus is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC and consoles, along with other new games.

Microsoftannounced that the Scarlet Nexus is coming to Xbox Game Pass on September 30 at the Tokyo Game Show 2021 showcase. Scarlet Nexus is an action RPG by Bandai Namco starring a group of teenagers with psychic powers who become the last line of defense against an endless horde of monsters attacking humanity.

Players can choose between Scarlet Nexus heroes Yuito and Kasane as they join the Other Suppression Force to use their powers to protect civilization. The combat system is based on the power of psychokinesis and telekinesis, with the player able to throw part of the environment at their enemies. Throughout the game, they will add new characters to their party that will grant them additional powers that can be summoned, such as invisibility or pyrokinesis.

Scarlet Nexuss was rumored to be coming to Xbox Game Pass at the June launch, but that never came to pass, and Bandai Namco has denied it outright. However, patient players were rewarded once again as they only had to wait a few months for the rumor to become reality. During Xbox's TGS 2021 showcase, it was announced that the Scarlet Nexus will be available for Xbox Game Pass on PC and consoles starting September 3rd.

Scarlet Nexus isn't the only new game coming to Xbox Game Pass, AI: Somnium Files and Mighty Goose are also coming to the subscription service. It was also announced that Deadly Premonition creator Swery's The Good Life will be coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch. Games like Back 4 Blood and Starfield were also featured during the Xbox TGS 2021 event.

Scarlet Nexus is a well-received action game that critics praised for its satisfying combat that felt like it was taken straight from a combat squad. The game's visuals are also unique, with suitably spooky monster designs and neon-bathed levels. Xbox seems determined to enter the console market of Japan this generation, as its success in the region has always pales in comparison to the established companies Nintendo and Sony.
