Actor and musician Dave Jackson claims to have been appointed chief of police.
A GTA 6 character may have appeared, as a voice actor claimed to be cast as "Captain McClane, the chief of police."
Just below, you can see a screenshot from actor and musician Dave Jackson's Facebook profile yesterday, August 26. In the post itself, Jackson claims to have secured the role of “chief of police Captain McClane” in the new Grand Theft Auto series, and tells fans to “stay tuned” for more updates and news.
While the Grand Theft Auto series is obviously not new, it might be slipping here that Jackson was hired for a role in GTA 6. – and according to Dexerto Jackson, he doesn't think the project is related to GTA Online – but of course the developer has never confirmed the existence of a sequel to GTA 5.
Rockstar Games isn't building on GTA 6 yet, but development may be further along than anyone thinks.
This, of course, is just the latest in a very long line of rumors and speculation surrounding GTA 6. At the beginning of 2020, it was revealed that Rockstar's tax returns pointed to a new game in the series.
More recently, allegations surrounding the unannounced game have focused on certain aspects of the title. For example, in July last month, two reporters confirmed that GTA 6 is on schedule for the 2025 launch window and will feature in a modern reimagining of Vice City. Additionally, the two claimed that GTA 6 will feature an "expanding" and "evolving" map that is no different from Fortnite's periodic change of map. This would be a very different change from the design philosophy of GTA 5.
