Asim “fabFabulous” Demir (known as “fabFab” among LoL fans) announced on Thursday that he will not be playing for a team this year after a 9-year career. There are some names in the Turkish League of Legends scene that when you ask people about them, they know something about them even if they don't follow esports regularly. It's like asking any League of Legends player about Faker, Uzi or Bjergsen. fabFab is one of those names, but it seems to be changing.

The statement "I won't be playing this year, see you on my streams" was met with surprise and shock among fans. While he didn't end so well last year for FabFabulous and Dark Passage (2021 they finished 5th twice, making the playoffs), people expected him to play for Dark Passage or another Turkish team in 2022.

In addition to lifting the TCL trophy 7 times, since 2014 fabFab has also participated in numerous World Championships representing his country. He is considered one of the most successful Turkish players in the League of Legends scene, alongside Turkish players such as İrfan “Armut” Tükek and Can “Closer” Çelik.

2022 hasn't been very kind to veteran gamers around the world. FabFab isn't the only one who won't play in 2022, another name on the list of players not playing for a team in 2022 along with Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle, Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen and Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng. We hope to one day see old talents with new superstars.
