Ubisoft Will Introduce New Assassin's Creed Project in September. The publisher announced that Ubisoft will announce the “future of Assassin's Creed” in September. The French company has announced that a new announcement of the game is in preparation for the month of September, as part of its 15th anniversary celebrations.
“Assassin's Creed developers hope the community will enjoy these celebrations and are inviting all players to join them this September as they unveil the future of Assassin's Creed during a very special event,” Ubisoft said.
That's all the publisher has said, but one possibility is that we'll hear more about a new Assassin's Creed Infinity project during the event, or potentially a smaller-scale Assassin's Creed project focusing on Valhalla character Basim. According to some rumors, the company has rolled up its sleeves in the Assassin's Creed remake.
Ubisoft's 15th anniversary celebrations for Assassin's Creed include new events in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, a free trial for Origins, and weekly celebrations via a dedicated site.
As for the "very special event," Ubisoft has not said whether it will be an Assassin's Creed-focused event or an announcement of Assassin's Creed and Ubisoft's other upcoming games. Ubisoft is expected to hold a big event this year with nearly 20 game announcements, including brand new teasers and updates for existing games. However, it is unknown whether this will happen in September.
The original Assassin's Creed was released in November 2007 and has since spawned numerous sequels and spin-offs, as well as a feature film starring Michael Fassbender and Oscar winners Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons.
