Microsoft has announced free Xbox Games With Gold games for January 2022, and it includes a few classic shoot-'em-up games that should get retro arcade enthusiasts excited. NeuroVoider, Aground, Radiant Silvergun, and Space Invaders Infinity Gene are free in January, two unlocking on January 1 and the other two on January 16.

- Radiant Silvergun (January 1-15)
- Space Invaders Infinity Gene (January 16-31)
Games are available with both an Xbox Live Gold subscription and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription; The first two are Xbox One games and the last two are Xbox 360 games - they'll all run on Xbox Series X|S. Game Pass continues to grow and will receive future games like Sniper Elite 5 on launch day. You can grab some of December's free games now before they expire, including Tropico 5 and The Escapists 2.
Radiant Silvergun is one of Treasure's most critically acclaimed shooters, originally released in arcades and on the Sega Saturn, and serves as the predecessor to Ikaruga. Meanwhile, Space Invaders Infinity Gene is a cerebral take on the series that looks something like Tetris Effect.
