Mojang is stepping back from the Minecraft Legends project. The developer announced today that it will not be releasing any new content for the game as the studio is "taking a step back from development" on the project.
Existing Lost Legends challenges will remain online for free and players can continue to earn corresponding rewards. Additionally, technical support for Minecraft Legends will continue to be available and all features and functionality will remain online. This includes keeping PvP and co-op support online and functional.
Minecraft Legends was released in April 2023 and is available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as Nintendo Switch and PC. Real-time action strategy game set in Minecraft's Overworld was developed by Mojang and Blackbird Interactive.
While support for Minecraft Legends is ending, Mojang said it expects to "continue bringing new experiences to the Minecraft universe" with other projects in due course.
