So far we've learned a lot about the changes League of Legends will make for the pre-season 2022, but Riot Games still has a lot of new news for the game.

The League's new rune, First Strike, has been confirmed to be in the Inspiration rune tree, replacing Omnistone, which "never truly finds its place in most players' hearts."

“[Omnistone's] rules and optimizations were very complex, and messing with it risked making it even harder to master,” senior game designer John “Sotere” Frank wrote on a recent developer's blog. “This has left us in a difficult spot where we can't safely polish it for fear it will become a standard in Pro gaming.

First Strike is a rune that will favor those who attack the enemy lane first. Grants five bonus gold on hit and activates "first strike" for three seconds, causing attacks to deal 12 percent bonus damage to all champions. These effects are on a 25 to 15 second cooldown depending on level.

The extra damage during trade and combat is great, and the extra income will allow players to reach item thresholds at a much faster rate than before. This will be great for any champion with a quick spell return as they can easily activate the effect of this rune

First Strike will have the chance to spice up the rune choices for League players as the 2022 preseason begins soon.
