Activision today in a new blog posthas officially unveiled its upcoming Call of Duty battle royale project for mobile, codenamed Project Aurora.

The mobile version of Warzone aims to bring the CoD battle royale experience to mobiles, similar to PUBG New State.

“You may have heard whispers about Project Aurora through speculation deep on Reddit or on YouTube, but we haven't officially announced anything yet,” the team behind the project said. “The game is still in development and we are in the middle of our first game test in Project Aurora Closed Alpha. The Closed Alpha is limited in size, and with it, we want to start collecting feedback on all aspects of the game as well as tuning, stress-testing matches, spotting and fixing bugs as new features come online.”

In a subsequent Q&A, the team explained that the closed alpha is available to "a limited number of participants via direct invitation", but that they will "add more players throughout the Closed Alpha phase and beyond" as they reach the development stages.

Basically, Project Aurora or Warzone Mobile is still in the very early stages of development. However, the team said their mission in the new game is "to bring together friends, family and people around the world in a global community of diverse players in a fast-paced, precise and high-quality Battle Royale action experience."

The blog post ends with the words, "We're working hard to create the best experience for gamers around the world and we're excited to be able to share this journey with you, so stay tuned for additional updates here."

After the recent announcement of Apex Legends Mobile, Valorant Mobile and Rainbox Six Mobile, this shooter in Call of Duty Warzone Mobile seems to be joining the adventure of mobile gaming.
