Legends of Runeterra's first World Championship streak concluded today with Alanzq's final victory over Yamato in a close 2-1 win. Both competitors brought unique and interesting decks to the finals and Alanzq was the only player to make both Akshan/Sivir Demacia and Ezreal Curious Shellfolk the top 16.
This matchup was not Alanzq and Yamato's first match in the tournament. The duo met in the first 16 games of Group C and Yamato, representing Japan, took the first game in both series.
The situation looked bleak in the final match that will eliminate Alanzq from the tournament. But Caitlyn's Flashbomb traps opened up the possibility of a comeback for her and took the wind behind her.
With this victory, Alanzq takes home $40.000 and the pride of being LoR's first world champion.
Even though the Worlds is over, the chance to compete never ends. If you want to race yourself, winning the Last Chance Qualifier or finishing in the top 700 in the standings will allow you to compete in the Beyond the Bandlewood Seasonal Tournament on October 9th.
