It brings with it loads of cosmetics and a new game mode.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a pretty good game: not too ambitious, not too clever, but it takes the herd shooter plot from your Left 4 Deads and Vermintides and executes it well enough. Now, the cooperative manga shooter is launching Season Two on December 14.

The standout feature among the freebies that opened Season Two is Point Defense, a new game mode. Based on the developer blog description, it's a wave survival mode where you have to defend and repair three separate checkpoints. Between each wave, you use Production Points to purchase consumables and defensive parts such as turrets and traps. Sounds like the game's current Horde mode, but sounds fun

Apart from that, Season Two will also bring an array of cosmetics, weapons, attachments, and a Lifetime Statistics feature that lets you keep track of how many xenos you've jumped with each kit.

If you're really determined, you can get the Nostromo Rescue Pack, which includes 25 cosmetic items from the original movie, for US$10 (here we hope it includes the original xeno costume worn by Bolaji Badejo in the movie, so we can save the aliens). imitation while you look like one of them). As with all paid DLCs, the Nostromo Salvage Pack is free for Deluxe Edition and Endeavor Pass holders.

All of this should give Aliens: Fireteam Elite a boost to coincide with its arrival on Xbox Game Pass on December 14th. After a pretty big opening month, the game is currently on Steam It only has a few hundred simultaneous players and is soon on Game Pass.

The game's arrival on Game Pass just a few months after its release may indicate that the game isn't performing as well as publisher Focus Home Interactive had hoped. Especially in a cooperative game where there is no competitive advantage to be gained by playing with keyboard and mouse, the question arises as to why crossplay is not implemented.

On the good side, when I reviewed the game, it's good to see that the dreaded matchmaking that ruined the game has been largely fixed and now has a Quick Play feature that puts you on a random mission alongside online players.
