Season 12: Defiance begins February 9th.
That's when the Apex Legends calendar once again starts dropping teasers for next season – starting with a look at our next rebel Legend, Mad Maggie.
Introduced exactly a year ago, Mags was a lifelong friend to fellow Salvonian (and Season 8 protagonist) Fuse, until a minor disagreement saw him rip his arm off. Maggie later briefly took over the games in that season's Wargames limited-time mode before apparently being killed during these events.
Today's new Stories from the Outlands trailer from the Outlands trailer tells us that he survived and spent the last year revolting in space. Eventually captured by the Syndicate (the government of this weird, bloodsports-obsessed corner of the galaxy), he is punished by being sent to fight for his resistance at the Apex Games - but first he spits a dislocated tooth in someone's eye.
We'll likely find out more from Maggie's toolset when the seasonal trailer drops on Thursday. However Season 12: Defiance A new site for . has made fun of some extra juicy new details. Olympus (top map) returns with some as yet unknown changes, but the bigger one is the introduction of the 9v9 Control mode with endless respawns and gear as you battle to capture control points.
Control will be limited to the first 12 weeks of Season 3, but I'm excited to see Apex tackle a more traditional FPS mode. These first three weeks are with login rewards that let you unlock Wattson, Octane, and Valkyrie for free. It also marks the third anniversary of Apex Legends.
