We're going back to Solace.

Apex Legends' mid-season ranked split kicks off today, and the competitive playlist has been moved exclusively to Kings Canyon for the remainder of the season. The split was scheduled for last week, but Respawn delayed it after the Evolution incident caused a series of crippling issues with the game.

The split means that Kings Canyon will be the only map for competitive play until the shooter's 11th season begins, possibly in late October or early November. Olympus remains out of competitive rotation during Ascension, but will return to the ranks in the future. Floating City was also the second map in the Legacy ranked rotation.

The second half of the ranked season was scheduled to air on September 21, but Respawn pushed the date back a week due to server issues after the Evolution patch. Professionals and broadcasters asked Respawn to extend its departure date, and the studio apparently listened. This means that the second split will be slightly shorter.

Ranked season kicked off with an overhauled version of World's Edge with three massive new points of interest. Train Yard, a particularly problematic area, has turned into a landslide, a barren pit where the courtyard used to be. But the refinery got the lion's share of the changes.

The less popular POI evolved into Climatizer at the start of season 10. The new POI is a large area made up of two symmetrical buildings connected by gondolas, and wagons provide safe passage between the two, protecting players from the boiling lava below. However, the gondolas are not completely safe, as players are vulnerable to enemy fire and grenades inside the cars.

The map update to World's Edge also removed the popular Ranking Factory and replaced it with the Lava Siphon. The new area also has several buildings connected by gondolas near a larger building that opens up different return paths.
