The first season of Arcane ended earlier today, and the production team at Riot Games confirmed today that a second season of the show is in development.

The voices of Caitlyn, Jinx, and Vi can be heard in the promotional video for the show's second season, implying that the next part of the story could follow the events of the first nine episodes. Plus, the show's first season ended with a relatively abrupt cliffhanger, implying that any loose ends set up in the first season could be tied up in the future.

Still, that doesn't mean that Arcane's second season won't explore other regions of Runeterra outside of Piltover and Zaun. Noxus, for example, was heavily featured in the final act of season one. The possibilities are huge for the story of Arcane, who has ties to other nations, including Ionia and Demacia. While Runeterra has more than a dozen regions to explore, it's possible that Arcane's second season will dive into yet another landscape of the LoL universe.

Riot did not give a solid release date for the release of the next season of Arcane. However, using the original release timeline of the series, there was about two years between Arcane's reveal and the premiere of the first season, but the series was delayed due to the pandemic. By that logic, Arcane's second season could arrive in 2022 or 2023.

All nine episodes of Arcane season one are currently streaming on Netflix.
