Lost Ark has released the Argos Abyssal raid in a new update, and many players, including Twitch streamer Asmongold, have been criticizing its requirements.

Amazon Game Studios and Smilegate released the popular Korean MMO Lost Ark in the West last month, and since then players have been creating unique fan art, formulating brilliant strategies for the many fights in the game, and discovering hidden details in the vast world of Arkesia. However, some players have found systematic issues in Lost Ark, as prominent fan Asmongold continued recording to criticize the Argos Abyssal Raid and some related issues affecting players.

Popular Twitch streamer Asmongold recently made a YouTube video detailing some of the issues he found with Lost Ark launching in North America and his thoughts on how to mitigate those issues. One of the key messages the YouTube video focuses on is that the Lost Ark gear and some of its associated pay-to-win mechanics are preventing the majority of players from accessing endgame content, including Abyssal Raid Argos.

During this YouTube video, Asmongold discusses the relative ease with which Lost Ark players upgrade their Tier 3 1.300 gear in the early stages, but how quickly this system slows down around the 1.340 item level. Asmongold notes that this will see Lost Ark players see a reduction in successful upgrades on their gear, resulting in a significant loss of supplies. Considering how much material is required between 1.340 and 1.370, although it seems close at item level, Asmongold suggests that "credit card access" allows for more dungeons, matchmaking, and more to be unlocked for players.

Lost Ark players who notice less successful upgrades around 1.350 item level will find relief when they reach 1.370 item level because it becomes easier to upgrade gear when different resources are unlocked at that item level. Asmongold pointed out that this causes a “rich get richer” situation, where players with higher item levels can upgrade their gear faster and gain more resources through items that “make Lost Arc characters stronger”. While Asmongold acknowledges that there are few players able to reach 1,370 and Lost Ark raids without paying real money to get there, he also believes it takes an unreasonable amount of time to reach such a high item level.
