Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is out now, and as always there are new camouflages to follow in a new Call of Duty game. Modern Warfare 2 includes a few basic weapon camouflage missions, but the most sought after by players were mastery camos. Mastery camouflages are looking really impressive this year and our guide will walk you through the steps to get these coveted weapon designs.
How to unlock Mastery camouflage quests
The Modern Warfare 2 camo is divided into two types: Basic and Mastery. Before you can unlock the flashy mastery camouflages, you'll need to acquire the basic camouflages. The basic camouflage is a little different from other games this year, but it's just as beautiful. There are over 180 basic camouflages in the game and they are all universal. So, once you unlock the basic camo for a weapon, you will be able to apply it to all other weapons in your arsenal. These are no longer weapon-specific base camouflages.
There are a maximum of four basic camouflage missions for each Gunsmithable weapon in the game, and you'll be able to access these camouflage missions as you level up the weapon. These vary from weapon to weapon, but these vary from a certain amount of kills, double kills, etc. simple difficulties. Non-customizable weapons and melee weapons (weapons without attachments) in Gunsmith only have one basic challenge each.
To view the camouflage missions and get started, you need to select a weapon > select the Gunsmith > Then go to the ”Customize” section. Here you can also see camouflages, decals and weapon charms to customize your weapons.
It's worth noting here that as you level up the weapon, four core missions will be unlocked, and these unlock levels vary from weapon to weapon.
For example, the base quests for the .50 GS pistol are unlocked at levels 2, 10, 18, and 26, while the base quests for the M4 assault rifle are unlocked at 2, 8, 13, and 19.
Once you complete all the basic camo challenges for a specific weapon, you'll unlock your first mastery challenge for the Gold camo.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: All mastery camouflage missions
There are four mastery camos that you can unlock in Modern Warfare 2. Unlike basic camouflages, these are not universal and must be unlocked for each weapon individually.
Gold
Gold is the first mastery quest you unlock when you complete a weapon's basic quests. This mission asks you to get the desired kill score before reaching the specified death limit. The amount required varies between weapons, but the overall difficulty is always the same here.
Platinum (Platinum)
To unlock the Platinum mastery camo, you must complete the Gold camo missions for all weapons in the same weapon class. Therefore, you will need to complete all Gold camouflage missions for the assault rifle class to unlock the Platinum challenge for assault rifles.
Platinum combat will be the same for all weapons of the same class, but will vary from class to class. These will be challenges such as getting them with a certain number of ranged shots.
polyatomic
To unlock Polyatomic mastery quests, you must complete 51 Platinum mastery challenges. (Originally there are 51 weapons in the game, but this can be completed with any DLC weapon added later, so you'll only need 51 total weapons to unlock Polyatomic challenges)
Polyatomic mastery quests work just like Platinum camo quests. After finishing the Platinum difficulties for a particular weapon class, return to Gunsmith and check out your new Polyatomic difficulties. These challenges will vary from class to class, and this is the final set of challenges that must be completed to achieve the Orion camo that appears to be the most valuable.
Orion
Orion is the final mastery camo in Modern Warfare 2, and you must first unlock Polyatomic on at least 51 weapons to unlock the camo. There are no additional challenges to complete here, as Orion automatically unlocks for all 51 of these weapons with his earned Polyatomic camo.
This is a much simplified version of the mastery camouflage missions we've seen in recent years, so it's not too big of a deal to arrive at Orion camouflages.
