Among all the bugs and glitches in Call of Duty: Vanguard right now, there are also some simple overlooks. These omissions from Sledgehammer Games are somewhat to be expected given how new Vanguard is. However, one of the bugs seems to be preventing players from earning Gold camo on the Automaton assault rifle in Vanguard multiplayer mode.
Automaton has a camouflage mission that requires players to get 100 ADS kills using a certain set of attachments. The reason the difficulty stops players is because one of the required attachments is not available.
The supplement in question is Assassin Proficiency. Without it, players will not be able to complete the "Mind Games" camouflage section and will not be able to earn Automaton Gold camo. Fans recently discovered a workaround to this problem.
EARN AUTOMATON GOLD CAMOUFLAGE IN VANGUARD
Two other add-ons required for the Mindgames camo section are the Anastasia Sniper barrel and the Empress Broadsword stock. Players can equip these addons without any problems.
Once these addons are equipped, players will need to go to the addon slot for Automaton. Here players want to choose the Frenzy addon. For some reason, equipping this add-on with the other two add-ons allows players to advance Mindgames camo with ADS kills. This is probably the only workaround until SledgeHammer releases an update to fix the issue.
Frenzy is an addon that allows players to regenerate their health after killing them. Maybe the SledgeHammers game changed the name of Proficiency from Assassin to Frenzy before Vanguard was released, and Mindgames forgot to change the name in the camo section. Either way, by equipping these three add-ons, players can advance their Automaton camo and eventually earn Gold camo in Vanguard.
