Diablo 4 Barbarian Build Guide for Beta
The Diablo 4 Barbarian Build build focuses primarily on area-of-effect (AoE) attacks due to hordes of enemies, as well as extra survivability. Also, since we are in the beta phase of the game, the characters' level is at most 25. You can also visit our Barbarian reviews of active skills, abilities/passives, and Specialization/ for a more detailed explanation of each ability. Arsenal Weapon Replacement.
Basic: Don't Fly (Combat) – You probably won't see much benefit from the bleeding mechanic in the early stages of the game. However, the Enhanced variant allows you to make enemies vulnerable, causing them to take more damage temporarily. This is even better if you use a two-handed weapon while activating Flay.
Core: Whirlwind (Violent) – Ideal for Diablo 4 Barbarian leveling build, as Tornado is an AoE attack that can be sustained for long periods of time. Besides, who doesn't love having a Barbarian return while you take down enemies?
Defensive: Ground Smash (Tactical or Strategic) – Ground Smash is an extremely useful skill as it stuns or knocks down enemies along with extra anger generation. You can continue with Tactical (i.e. rage generation) until you unlock your ultimate skill; this is when you can switch to your Strategic (i.e. Ultimate cooldown reduction) skill.
Defensive: Hard Shout (Tactical) – Yes, we will have a few Defense skills for our Diablo 4 Barbarian level-up structure. If you're playing solo, Challenging Shout's taunt is pretty controversial, but the damage reduction is great.
Brawling: War Cry (Power) – This is another shout that increases our DPS.
Weapon Mastery: Deathblow (Warrior or Warrior) – Deathblow is a powerful ability that deals tons of damage. If you manage to kill an opponent with this, the cooldown is reset.
Ultimate: Call of the Ancients (Prime and Supreme) – With only six skill slots to choose from, you will need to drop a skill to assign your ultimate ability. If you no longer need it, you can leave the Challenging Shout.
Passive: Thundering Voice (Fight) – Considering how often you will use your shouts to stay alive, it is imperative that you have a passive that increases the duration even more.
Weapon Specialization: One-Handed Maces, Two-Handed Axes, and Two-Handed Maces – To be fair, trying to focus on a particular Weapon Specialization while leveling up your Barbarian will be a challenge. This is because you often get new and better gear pieces that may not be your preferred weapon types. Still, you can't go wrong with:
- One-handed maces – Increased damage against stunned enemies (i.e. Takedown).
- Two-handed axes – Increased damage against defenseless enemies (eg Flay).
- Two-handed maces – Extra fury generation when hitting enemies; Level 10 deals bonus crit damage against stunned and vulnerable enemies (eg Flay and Ground Stomp).
