Diablo 4 Druid Animal Spirits Guide

To begin with, the Animal Spirits system builds on the Druid's ability to transform into a wolf or bear and also have animals as companions. But with Animal Spirits, players will be able to choose one of four different spirits at once. Their chosen Animal Spirit will give them unique bonuses in Diablo 4 called Boons.

No word yet on what will become of Animal Spirits or what each of their Blessings will be. Players can see an increase in their base damage, buff their animal friends, or get some additional defense buffs, but none of these have yet been confirmed by Blizzard.

We know that when players arrive in the town of Scosglen, they will unlock the first of the four Animal Spirits. Blizzard predicts that players will reach this town at level 15 in the full game. Whenever it happens, players' paths will eventually cross with an Animal Spirit that they can use somehow. When players acquire an Animal Spirit, they will be able to benefit from its special Blessing.

For the most part, players can only have one Animal Spirit Boon at a time. However, once players unlock four souls, they will be able to activate two Boons at once. As players equip new Animal Spirits, there will be an XP system supposedly allowing players to rank up each spirit. The more XP players gain for their active spirit, the more passive buffs offered by the spirit will result. This part of the mechanics is said by players who attended the closed beta months ago, so take this information with some skepticism.

At this point, players are hoping Blizzard will make the Animal Spirit system particularly powerful, as the Druid's overall skills seem a bit lackluster in beta. Perhaps having an Animal Spirit Boon active at all times will give the class a much-needed boost.

We'll update this article as more information comes in on the Animal Spirit mechanics for the Druid in Diablo 4.
