Here's our Diablo 4 Sorcerer level-up build guide to help you choose the best skills for the campaign.
Diablo IV Sorcerer Build Guide for Beta
The Diablo 4 Sorcerer leveling structure focuses primarily on area of effect (AoE) due to the numerous enemy mobs you have to eliminate. Also, since we are in the beta phase of the game, the characters' level is at most 25. Basic: Spark (Flickering) – Spark is your spammable spell and can easily bounce off other enemies. Crackling Energy is also a way to generate small orbs from your character that cause lightning to strike nearby enemies.
Core: Chain Lightning (Destructive) – Chain Lightning bounces back from enemies and your character with critical hits that can trigger Crackling Energy.
Defensive: Frost Nova (Mystical) – Frost Nova is ideal for the Diablo 4 Sorcerer leveling build as it is an important crowd control spell. Enemies will not only freeze, but also become vulnerable (i.e., they will take more damage).
Conjuration: Hydra (Invoked) – Hydra is something you knock down as it is a creature that moves like an automatic tower. It will hit the enemies quickly and your critical hits will also increase their critical chance.
Mastery: Meteor (Mage's) – Meteor has a huge radius of effect made even better by the Enhanced variant. However, hitting three or more enemies gives a chance for another Meteor to drop. Meanwhile, Mage's upgrade makes Meteor fall faster, dealing damage to enemies before they're too far away.
Ultimate: Deep Freeze (Prime and Supreme) – Deep Freeze acts as your emergency button as it makes your character immune for four seconds. You'll also deal additional damage, create a cooling effect, and cause an explosion when the time runs out. Assuming you've earned enough Fame in Broken Hills, you should have two extra skill points enough to unlock Deep Freeze upgrades along with some passives.
Passives:
- Elemental Harmony – This is mostly to reset the cooldown of Frost Nova (or any other Defense skill you choose).
- Glass Cannon – Another viable option for extra DPS, although you get more damage in return.
- Static Discharge – This increases the chance of Cracking Energy being generated when your Shock skills are critical.
Enchantment:
- Fireball – Killing an enemy with any skill causes them to explode; This Fireball causes 50% of your damage.
- In short, every kill leads to an explosion, and more things become “kablooey” due to the proc.
- Enchantment passives do not require the enchantment itself to be equipped in an active/usable slot, but you do need at least one point/rank on them. Gear pieces that provide a rank are considered unlocks as long as you wear them.
