Discord for the Discord Voicemail Feature, with an official share on April 14, announced that all users using the mobile application can now send audio recordings for up to 20 minutes in DMs and servers. While messages can be listened to on the desktop, the ability to save and send is limited to the mobile app.
Signal works like the voicemail functions in WhatsApp or other mobile instant messengers. There is a new microphone icon to the right of the text field. Just hold it down and you can start talking.
Initially, the Discord Voicemail Feature will be able to be created and sent from mobile devices and all platforms will be able to play them. Currently only available in DMs, Group DMs, and servers with less than 200 members.
You can report voicemails like regular messages, and there are also options to disable them on the whole server or limit their use by role. Even if you mostly use Discord to hang out with your friends, a lot of people seem to like to turn their Discord servers into weird, personality cult digital fiefdoms where they sometimes leak state secrets. It makes sense for the company to take bad behavior into account when it rolls out a new feature.
