Dragon's Dogma 2 Checkpoint Rest Town Portcrystal can be found in the Woodland Griffin Nest just outside Misty Marshes, seen in the location listed above. If you're just starting from Vernworth and haven't visited any of these locations yet, the journey is actually pretty straightforward.
Starting from the capital Vernworth, take the Oxcart at the west Vernworth gate to fast travel to Checkpoint Rest Town. This is where you will eventually move on to Battahl once you are able to obtain a permit and clear customs. From here go north along the main road.
Where the path splits to go further north to the Ancient Battlefield, continue on the larger path heading west. Eventually, you'll come across an area of dense fog, just after passing a large Cyclopes. Head north from the road to Griffin's Lair to find the Portcrystal hidden in the lair.
Naturally, the Griffin you encounter will not be too keen on giving up his Portcrystal. Actually you don't need to fight this monster because Portcrystal is a nearby item that you can pick up instead of dropping. If you're like me and want to get in and out quickly, then I recommend you run to the nest, grab the Portcrystal, and get out.
What are the best spots to place a Port Crystal in Dragon's Dogma 2?
Portcrystals are incredible tools that allow you to fast travel to anywhere you place a Portcrystal. In Dragon's Dogma 2 Since there are very few ways to fast travel, this is the best way to get around the map. Since portcrystal placement is entirely up to you, there are a few spots where I recommend placing these anchors.
The three best places I've found to place a portcrystal Bakbattahl, Rest Town and Volcanic Island Camp. If you have visited Battahl before, you should know that there are no fixed Portkristals here and very few Oxcarts. This makes Battahl the most difficult area to navigate.
Bakbattahl has tons of quests within the city and, like Volcanic Island Camp, is a major point in the story. Since you will be spending a lot of time in these two places, placing a Portcrystal here will definitely be to your advantage. Rest Town is also located right in the middle of two major quest hubs, so a fast travel point here is always great.
