Epic Games has secured $2 billion in funding to “advance the company's vision of building the metaverse and supporting its continued growth,” the company announced today.

Both Sony Group Corporation and KIRKBI, the investment firm behind Lego, have separately invested $1 billion in Epic, which remains controlled by the company's outspoken CEO, Tim Sweeney. According to Epic Games, the company's post-money equity valuation is currently $31.5 billion.
